The Deal
The Deal was formed around 1985 by Duncan Wood. Having played in a couple of five piece blues bands he wanted the freedom that a three piece offered. The stripped down no-where to hide, emotions laid bare aspects of a trio, where every note and rhythmic pulse made by each member matters is where the essence of the band lies.
Heavily influenced by Rory Gallagher’s first band Taste, The Deal’s set has always comprised of a blend of original material that roots into a foundation of the blues. It is from this foundation that the rest of The Deals material is built. With re-workings of classics from Muddy Waters and the three Kings, BB, Albert & Freddie, The Deal stamp their brand on songs like: How Blue Can You Get, Born Under A Bad Sign & Look over Yonders Wall. The Classic British blues bands of the 60’s & 70’s are also represented and Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Rory Gallagher & Hendrix are regularly represented.
