This year we have just put together what we think is outstanding entertainment from some of the best Scottish artists around. Culross Festival 2015 is the most exciting and diverse festival for a number of years. Spanning all the arts in the form of Comedy; Theatre, Magic, Music and Art itself we have an internationally renowned line up of Artists with not a has been in site. Opening the Festival We have Kevin McMahon, founder and Artistic Director of the Edinburgh International Magic Festival and a Scottish Comedy awards nominee in his own right, Kevin will be working in tandem with Mirth of Forth who will present their stable of top stand-up comedians whist Kevin works his own baffling and hilarious magic on the opening night audience.
Friday sees the return of last year's highly popular Bowhouse Theatre Group with a new production of Sherlock Holmes plays adapted from the superb BBC Radio 4 Scripts. One of the best finds within last year's festival I guarantee a great night for all ages.
Saturday has now become "Bands Day" and so it is again but this time with a theme of "Rock Roots" and so we have a young Indie Band, The ever improving Stevie Agnew perform some Rock n roll classics. We have a Rockabilly band with the full Double Bass slapping happening. A Prog Rock Folk Band who act out their own songs. A Blues Band and a Scar Band who I defy you not to dance to.
This year we are pleased to be working with The Culross Gala Group. Besides giving us great assistance with the festival they will be holding their annual Gala Dance Night on Saturday. This event is tagged on to the day's events. As far as entertainment we have another popular band from last year Kiwi & the Bandits.
Sunday closes with what I think will quickly become a sold out event. The Theme is "Folk Sessions From The Northern Isles." Besides having 3 internationally renowned and respected Folk acts from Orkney and Shetland we also have the winner of this year's BBC Radio Scotland's "Best New Young folk artist." award. This event was later televised and the performance was captivating.
Throughout the festival local artist Jack Paton will be exhibiting his work within "The Stables Festival Hub" where all of the events are taking place within the building and inside the fully tented courtyard.
So that's all folks, you can get all the detail you will need in this site, also try checking out the Culross festival Facebook page which is constantly updated with new quirky items. But my overriding message to you is:
Break out of your sitting rooms and come and experience a real live and vibrant event which will stay with you longer than an episode of the X Factor or East Enders. I will be delighted if you would come along.
