About the Festival

For twenty years, the charity that is the Culross Festival has been bringing some of the UK and Scotland's top acts to Culross.

Memories of Eddi Reader, Ruby Turner and Red Hot Chilli Pipers will not fade and this year's programme is set to continue the tradition. We are very proud to be hosting the legendary Capercaillie and Caravan.

Operas like Don Giovanni and Madame Butterfly which have lifted the soul will be added to by The Barber of Seville.

The setting of Abbey House - the home of the Festival and the home of Lord Bruce - is spectacular. Unreserved open air seating is provided for the audience, while the artists enjoy a full covered stage setting and one of the most up-to-date sound systems money can buy.

For the opera, gates open at 2.00pm. to allow the audience to bring their picnics and enjoy the views over the Forth from the South side of Abbey House.

Music for all tastes but why not try something different as well?

Or why not make a day of it by including a visit to the lovely undiscovered village of Culross itself? Here you will find the nearest thing to a 16th century time capsule anywhere in Scotland. Visit The Palace, see The Town House, read about Thomas Cochrane, Scotland's most outstanding naval hero. Or enjoy a delicious meal at the Red Lion or sample delights at the Biscuit Café.

Whatever you do, enjoy the Culross Festival.

"Quite possibly the best small Festival in the world."
